Apple released new versions of its MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops, which now utilize high-powered Intel Penryn chips. Also, the MacBook Pro now has a multi-touch mouse pad similar to that of the MacBook Air.
In terms of performance specs, Penryn chips utilize a “45-nanometer microprocessor architecture” — which, according to the manufacturer, uses less power than the older 65nm architecture.
The level 2 cache has been improve in the Penryn as well. In fact, the 2.5GHz MacBook Pro has 6MB of level 2 cache which is 50% more than it had previously.
The Apple world is still waiting for a new MacBook and MacBook Pro form factor. Time to wait longer…
